The vertical Cage Antenna AVE 0640 is suitable for the ground wave coverage in the intermediate and short wave band.
It has been developed to cater for coastal communications where propagation over good conducting ground or ocean takes place.
Its excellent omni-directional radiation characteristic allows communication links in any direction over short and medium distances up to about 200 km.
In addition sky wave propagation is also possible so that the complete shortwave band from 1.6 MHz to 30 MHz can be propagated.
The antennas are designed and fabricated with quality assurance uppermost. The basis for mechanical loading calculations is DIN 4131 and higher load factors can be accommodated on request. The choice of materials is based on long term experience gained in the field of corrosion and statics. For example, HF conducting parts such as dipoles and feed lines are fabricated from sea-water resistant aluminium or aluminium alloys, the smallest fan antenna also makes use of fine stranded bronze rope. Fixtures and standard parts are made from stainless steel. Guy ropes are fabricated either from stainless steel or Parafil. All insulators are made from glazed low-loss ceramic. The masts are constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel.
